muay thai

what is muay thai?

Muay Thai is known as the art of eight limbs; two hands, two feet, two elbows and two knees. It is a unique, deadly striking martial art that is great for self defense and fitness. We use kicks, punches, knees, elbows, and a special skill called clinch!

We teach fundamentals, intermediate, and advanced/fighter techniques each week. Classes consist of warmups (jump rope, shadow box), drills, partner work, and lots of cardio. We have multiple coaches, all of whom bring their own unique style and experience to the classroom. There are opportunities to compete as well!

We have designed a special 6-week class to give you all the basics: punches and defense, elbows/knees, kicks and defense, clinch, and sparring.

You will also learn jumping rope, shadow boxing, and holding pads. Get all the fundamentals with other beginners!

  • NO contracts

  • NO equipment necessary- we provide everything for 6 weeks

  • Small class size

  • Learn with other beginners -that are just as nervous as you

  • No sparring until week 6! You will NOT get beat up

FAQs

  • For your first class, wear whatever you are comfortable working out in. Most people wear shorts or sweats and a tshirt. We workout barefoot. Please always wear a shirt. :)

  • No. Beginner class does not learn to spar until Week 6. For regular class, sparring nights are Thursdays, you can choose to attend or not. We encourage competition, but it is in no way required.

  • That depends on what your doctor says. If it is ok with your doctor, then yes you can train. Make sure you inform us of your injury, and always inform your training partner as well. It is important to take it easy until your injury is healed. No one is too old to try Muaythai.

  • BEGINNERS can only attend beginner class, Saturday mornings 11am (Kru Kyle’s class), and open mats. If you are past beginner class, then yes, you can go to any day.

  • Open mat is available to any adult student, and a few approved teen students. We have open mats Friday evening and Saturday morning. Most students spar, or use the heavy bags for Muay Thai or other workout equipment. It is up to you. See current gym schedule

We only have 12-16 students in each 6-week program, so this class is always sold out- we recommend purchasing your spot!

However, if you would just like to try the first day for free, that is fine too! Please use our Calendly page to schedule a free trial class.
